Our Approach

Sodexo Global Pride Taskforce, under the sponsorship of two executive members, drives our approach for supporting the inclusion and belonging of LGBTQ+ persons. The Taskforce is supported by work streams who lead the way by fostering an inclusive environment in which Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer employees can "bring their whole selves" to work.

Margot Slattery, Sodexo Global Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer said, "As global business leaders, we must set the example in our communities and create workplaces where every human being feels a sense of belonging and feels valued. This is why the UN LGBTI Standards of Conduct serves as an important foundation for collective action in support of lesbian, gay, bi, trans and intersex people around the world.

Holding ourselves accountable to these standards will strengthen Sodexo’s efforts in creating an inclusive and safe culture for our LGBTI employees and LGBTI communities around the world. We invite other companies to adopt these standards, to promote equality and fairness and to advocate against discrimination and violence in order to make these a thing of the past."

 

18 PRIDE Networks (People Respecting Individuality, Diversity and Equality)

Around the world, Sodexo’s has established 18 “People Respecting Individuality, Diversity and Equality” employee networks whose mission is to champion an environment of acceptance and workplace equality for all LGBTQ and ally team members through employee engagement, community involvement, education and awareness.

 

Awareness Campaigns

Each year, Sodexo celebrates the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT) on May 17th by hosting a webinar that’s open to all employees for discussing key topics and concerns and sharing stories of what it means to live as an LGBTQ+ employee at Sodexo.

Sodexo adheres to the UN LGBTI Standards everywhere we operate. By respecting human rights, eliminating discrimination, providing support, preventing other human rights violations and acting in the public sphere, Sodexo strives to create an environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging and feels valued by supporting an inclusive and safe culture internally as well as outside our walls.
